The Gemmologists Association of Sri Lanka was founded in 1970. It is the professional arm of the gem and jewellery trade as a professional association of qualified Gemmologists. This organization is a non profit making entity and the GASL conducts seminars, lectures, refresher courses, examinations and exhibitions for the development of the education and profession of Gemmology. |
Conditions
1. GASL reserves the right to use the photographs of the above items to publish in the www.gemmology.lk or GASL promotional activities and other publications.
2. Final decision is made by an independent panel of judges and their decision is final.
3. Individuals
or Companies can submit one or more items for the competition. Maximum number of articles permitted on each application form cannot exceed five. Entry fee of Rs. 250/= will be levied for each application and should to be paid to the account of the GASL. The cheque should be written in favor of Gemmologists Association of Sri Lanka and crossed or deposit in the A/C 1101011501 in the Commercial Bank , Colombo 03,(swift code CCEYLKLX) or paid by cash at the preliminary judgment date to the treasurer of the GASL.
4. Full descriptions of exhibits should be attached to the application form. (Article No. Title, Name, Weight, colour, specimen name should to be shown displayed in the competition etc)
5. The competitions are open to Sri Lankans only. Reproductions of articles or photographs are not accepted for the competition. Written guarantee will be required regarding the same. Applications must be submitted for the preliminary selection to GASL.You will be notified of the dates of the preliminary selection by GASL, two weeks prior to
the competition.
6. Applications should reach GASL on or before 14nd November 2009 to Exhibition Secretary, Gemmologists Association of Sri Lanka, Professional Centre, 275/75, Prof.Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha, Colombo. 7. “Entries for Jewels 2009 competition” should be written on the top left hand corner of the envelope.
7. Immediately after the preliminary selection, photographs will be taken and articles will be released to the owners and selected items will be indicated.
8. Final judgment will be made on the last date of the exhibition by an independent panel of judges.
9. Exhibits can be purchased and removed after the exhibition and 5% of the sale price will be retained by the GASL as commission. These articles can be price tagged by the owner in the exhibition brochure. Prospective buyer can reserve the article by paying 50% of the value to the GASL.
10. Cost of exhibiting the selected items will be borne by the GASL. Owners of the articles will be allowed to enter the exhibition free of charge.
11. GASL will not take responsibility of exhibits and security of the materials during the hours of the exhibition or damage or loss during the transport or any other way of handling the articles or exhibits by the owner. GASL reserves the right to take last minute decisions regarding the conduct and management of the competition. |
